How soon should you start cleaning your baby’s smile? Our Mission pediatric dentist recommends as soon as possible. Starting at birth, Dr. Ochoa recommends gently wiping your baby’s gums with a warm, wet washcloth after meals so that your little one keeps their gums clean and gets used to the sensation.
If you are raising your 2nd or 3rd child, you probably understand that teething can seem like a nightmare for babies and toddlers. Even though teething can leave your little one uncomfortable, feverish, and fussy, Dr. Ochoa is happy to guide you through this challenge that every parent goes through so that you can have a more peaceful home.
Many babies comfort themselves by sucking on their fingers, thumb, or pacifier. While most children stop non-nutritive sucking habits by age 2, Dr. Ochoa does not encourage this behavior after age 4 and can offer advice on how to get your little one to break this habit.
