Benefits of Dental Bridges

Dental bridges are an effective restorative treatment that offers numerous advantages. First, restoring your aesthetics by filling the empty gap with a dental bridge can be a simple solution for improving self-esteem if you’re embarrassed by how your smile looks. Also, a dental bridge can improve the way you speak and make it easier to chew food by distributing the bite force of your chewing more evenly across remaining and replacement teeth. Beyond that, a teeth bridge can help maintain the alignment of surrounding natural teeth and reduce stress on adjacent gums and bone structures.

Expect Caring and Compassionate Care

Delivering dental care with empathy and kindness is vital to patients of all ages. Once you sit in one of our comfortable dental chairs, here’s what one can expect:

Initial Consultation

At this first meeting, Dr. Collantes will evaluate your teeth, gums, and bite in detail. Aside from a physical exam, we will take x-rays to capture highly detailed images of the mouth. After carefully examining your anatomy, listening to your needs, and discussing the dental bridge cost, Dr. Collantes will verify if you qualify for a tooth bridge or offer an alternative tooth replacement option.

Preliminary Procedures

If you have severe decay or damage, Dr. Collantes might suggest removing the affected teeth before officially starting the dental bridge procedure. After your gums have healed, she will take impressions of your smile, place a temporary bridge, and send your impressions to our trusted dental laboratory for creation.

Final Fitting

When the tooth bridge returns to our Mission dental office, we will call you for a final fitting. Before cementing the dental bridge, Dr. Collantes will thoroughly assess the tooth bridges’ fit, quality, and stability. Your oral health is also assessed to ensure the dental bridges do not place excessive strain on your jaw or cause damage to areas such as the roof of your mouth.

After verifying that the dental bridge fits perfectly, Dr. Collantes will attach it with a special adhesive to stay in place for years.

Post-Treatment Maintenance

According to the Cleveland Clinic, dental bridges can last 5 to 7 years with proper care. With good oral hygiene and regular dental check-ups, a dental bridge can last even longer.
